Water Based, Low Voc, Moisture Evaporation Reducer for Freshly Placed Concrete

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

EAMICFILM ER is water-based, VOC compliant, instantly forms a protective monomolecular layer across the surface of the concrete which effectively reduces surface moisture evaporation by up to 80%.
As EAMICFILM ER retards evaporation, it is especially effective in combating rapid drying conditions including high concrete and/or ambient temperatures, low humidity, high winds, direct sunlight, it significantly extends the workability time of the freshly placed concrete and enable tighter finishes without need to add water to the surface during the finishing process.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

EAMICFILM ER is formulated to reduce moisture evaporation in:

  • Concrete surfaces where the evaporation rate exceeds the rate of bleeding of the concrete.

  • During finishing of concrete flatwork when rapid-drying conditions exist (high ambient temperatures, high winds, direct sunlight, low humidity, low water-cement ratio concrete mixes).

  • May be used with dry shake surface floor hardeners and toppings, cementitious patches & repair mortars.

  • In hot, windy, low humidity situations where rapid surface evaporation can result in concrete surface defects such as; plastic shrinkage cracking, crusting, crazing, or dusting.

  • Significantly reduces surface moisture evaporation to extend and facilitate the finishing process during hot, dry or windy conditions.

  • Reduces wind crusting and stickiness, allowing for easier toweling.

  • Does not inhibit the performance or bond of curing compounds, sealers or other next applications to the concrete surface at a later time.

  • Enables proper & easier finishing of dry-shake surface floor hardeners.

  • Enables easier finishing of polymer, fiber reinforced, or silica fume modified concrete or mortar mixes

  • Improves all the mechanical properties of the concrete by allowing lower slump mixes without the need for additional mix water to resist rapid evaporation

  • No effect on the final colour of the concrete surface.

  • Effective for both interior and exterior flatwork.

  • Water-based, non-flammable, non-toxic and non-corrosive.

EAMICFILM ER complies with all the recommendations by ACI 302: Evaporation Retardant / Monomolecular Film
