One-Coat Plus is applied directly onto brick or block work with a key coat slurry, i.e. raked back mortar joints or key coated and must be finished to a minimum thickness of 9 mm to avoid “ghosting”. The material should be applied to a minimum thickness of 9 mm in 2 passes, the first pass 4-5 mm and the second pass 4-5 mm.
Ensure that the second pass is applied when the surface of the first pass has stiffened, but not fully hardened.
When ruling level, hollows should be filled out immediately before a skin has formed. Take care to avoid small hollows, which may make it difficult to achieve a good finish. Small areas such as quoins, bands and reveals can be finished
with a plastic float. Do not polish.
Around openings and other critical locations it is recommended that an alkali resistant mesh is incorporated within the One-Coat Plus ensuring joints are overlapped a minimum of 100 mm.
